SHOULDER PROSTHESIS - CEMENTED

The Tipmed Total Shoulder System is a modular prosthetic system for use in both hemiarthroplasty and total replacement of shoulder. Indications for use as hemi and total shoulder replacement are osteoarthritis, aseptic necrosis of the humeral head, painful, disabling joint disease of the shoulder resulting from degenerative arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis or post-traumatic arthritis, proximal humeral fracture and/or dislocation, clinical management problems where arthrodesis or alternative reconstructive techniques are less likely to achieve satisfactory results, revision of previous unsuccessful total shoulder replacement, resurfacing or other procedure, failed previous shoulder replacement surgery, rotator cuff tear arthropathy.

The modular components are humeral stem, modular heads and metal-back glenoid component. Modular humeral stem is designed for pleno-humeral arthrosis and multifragmented proximal humerus fractures and  allows the surgeon for better reconstruction of rotator cuff tuberosity mechanism in difficult fractures and secure fixation of stem in humeral shaft.

Modular head is designed to enhance range of motion. Modular polyethylene liners are designed to prevent superior migration. Medial fin is to enhance glenoid component stability. Provisional glenoid allows intraoperative flexibility in soft tensioning. Rotational stability enhanced by lateral and posterior fins. Lateral fins allow fixation of tuberosities during hemi-arthroplasty for fracture.
